TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS

On 12th October 2019 the girls of classes VII and above went on an excursion to Andaman & Nicobar Island covering Havelock and Port Blair. On 13th October we began with the Cellular Jail (Kala Pani) where we witnessed a light and sound show at night which got tears welling up in our eyes. The next day a cruise took us to establish connection with the beautiful beaches of Havelock. Then came the adventurous part of our journey ‘Scuba Diving’ the beautiful Marine life left us spell bounds. Thereafter on the way to limestone caves we were transported to ship which took us to a journey to the ‘World of oddities’ where we saw the tribal’s. This journey of a week will be always cherished by students and remain with them forever.

Classes IV to VI went on an excursion to Jaipur on 14th October 2019. It was a very interesting educational tour, whereby the children enjoyed the ‘Twilight Safari’ in Jhalana developed for the conservation of Leopards. The children’s saw not just the leopards but also some other animals like Blue Bulls, Monitor Lizards, peacocks and various other birds. The ride around the city and the famous forts and places like the Amber Fort, City Palace etc. followed by the Rajasthani cuisine enthralled the children. On the whole it is a very interesting trip which the children enjoyed a lot.

On the joyous day of 7th September 2019, a group of students from class X accompanied by their escort teachers Miss Sarita and Miss Nimmi left for a 7 day tour to GOA. There they spent fun filled hours splashing in the water at Colva Beach and Calangute Beach. They also visited Basilica of BOM Jesus and Mangeshi Temple. A visit to froggy land Water Park left them with indelible memories. They enjoyed shopping at the various markets in GOA and PANJIM. The girls took in a lesson in GOA traditional dance and music on the Paradise Cruise. The girls returned to school on 13th September 2019 sunburned but filled with memories of a truly exhilarating trip.

Classes 8 th A & B set off for the much awaited adventure trip to Shimla and Shogi on 26 th April 2019. Enroute they had an over night halt at panchkula.Next day they reached the camp ‘Park woods Forest Hill Resort’ where they stayed in tents. There were a host of activities awaiting them like commando Net, Burma Bridge and Bamboo Bridge and valley crossing, Rock-Climbing and Rappelling as well as Navigational Trekking. The girls spend one day in Shimla visiting the Church as well as the Mall Road. The trip came to an end on 1 st May when the group reached Mussoorie.

A group of 29 girls accompanied by Ms Shalini Saxena and Mrs. Bhanu. Set off for the tour to Mumbai & Goa on 26 th April 2019.They went by Shatabdi followed by a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. The group visited the Essel world and had fun in the various rides and the water kingdom. This was followed by a visit to bollywood Film City, Prince of Wales museum, Gateway of India, Bandra Worli Sea Link, Haji Ali Dargah and Marine Drive.

On 29 th April the group reached Goa and stayed at the Heritage Village Club Resort. They had great fun at colva beach, Mangeshi Temple, Fort Aguada, Vagator beach and visited the silica of Bom Jesu and paid respect to St. Francis Xavier. After a water cruise on the Mandovi river and some shopping in Panjim the wonderful tour came to an end.

The Students of class XII were one of those lucky people to get an opportunity to visit this mesmerizing place called ‘Sursinghdhar’ Chamba in Tehri district to celebrate the pious festival of colour-‘Holi’.

The Students played Holi and enjoyed themselves to the fullest. They were treated with some delicious snacks gujiya and thandai.The trip was full of adventure including activities like tree Jumaring, Rappling, Zip living and other games organized by their tour guides.

On 24 th of March a game of ‘treasure hunt’ was organized for the girls which was a very thrilling and joyful activity for them, they will cherish the lovely moments spent in that peaceful and beautiful place forever.

An educational tour was arranged by the school to Europe , covering a number of countries. The tour began on the 3rd of August 2018 with the flight taking off for France. On landing in ‘Paris’ the group visited the champs D’Ellyes, followed by a cruise and some shopping. They then visited the iconic Eiffel Tower going up to the second floor and getting a bird’s eye view of Paris in all its glory.

The lighting show at night was wonderful. Next day was spent at Disney Land with parades, rides and fun filled excitement. The students and escorts then proceeded to Lyon and visited Fourviere where Mother Foundress Saint Claudine Thevenet lived & started her mission.The students learnt a great deal about the life & work of Mother Foundress St. Claudine Thevenet. Next they drove to Switzerland with a halt at Berne and picturesque Zurich and Mt. Titlis at Engelberg.

There they enjoyed skiing, sky drive and had lunch at the height of 6000 ft. On reaching, the group enjoyed the famous Gondola ride in Venice. On the way to Rome they visited one of the seven Wonders of the World ‘ The Leaning Tower of Pisa’. The final destination of the trip was Rome where we headed to Vatican city and visited St. Peter’s Basilica & Colosseum. The trip concluded with a visit to the Mother House of the CJM sisters where the students met Mother General Sr. Monica Joseph, Sr. Irene and had a good interaction with all the sisters there.

In the months of August and September the students of Waverley went on educational tours to the South of India, panning the cities of Bangalore, Ooty and Chennai. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves taking in the rich cultural heritage of our country evident in the breathtaking architecture of the temples and churches.

The students specially enjoyed the rides at Wonder La Amusement Park, Bangalore.

On the 1st April 2017, the students of classes IX A & B set off on an adventurous trip to Manali where they spent six blissful days in the lap of Nature. The girls got a firsthand experience at braving the elements in the great outdoors. Various activities like trekking, rappelling and rock climbing, were organized to help the students shed their inhibitions and overcome their fears.

From the 12th to 16th of April 2017, the students of classes V to VIII went on a fun-filled tour to Bhimtal, Nainital and Corbett National Park. The girls visited the various tourist spots but specially enjoyed boating on the various lakes like sattal, Naini Lake, Bhimtal etc. The highest of the trip was the jungle safari in Jim Corbett National Park where the students were fortunate to see a variety of wild animals.
